How to write a great article for a blog
You can always consider it a great way to create content for your blog, but the question that comes into anyone's mind is how to write an article that attracts readers and get them to read your story? And that’s why I have decided to share with you some effective tips that will help you to optimize your article’s readability, which will result in an increase in traffic.
Nowadays, people are becoming more aware of the importance of SEO, where it plays an important role in increasing user engagement on other social media platforms like Facebook, and Instagram. But still, there are many companies, who need this type of information but never want to use this. So they don’t find a solution or teach their authors to write articles. So I am going to change this situation for those kinds of companies, and will show them why they should take advantage of this opportunity.
First of all, let me say, that I haven’t written an article before, so I won’t give you any advice about how to start as I don’t follow some tricks that I used back then.
Now, I am going to show you a different approach to writing articles, instead of following this one I have just described how you should write a fantastic article. This will enable you to write articles with high quality and, if possible, without any distraction. And what’s better than having a beautiful article that attracts millions of visitors with only a few clicks? If a visitor wants to leave a comment, only they click the “Leave a comment” button! It's a really amazing way to drive traffic to your website, and it’s a very easy way, too.
So I’ll go through four simple tips that will help you understand the most important part of writing an article, how to make the article readable for readers without distractions and what you should do when we talk about writing an article. Let me show you them.
1. Use short paragraphs
A short paragraph is one of the best ways to ensure reader readability, and there are also several approaches to do it (there are no secrets when it comes to this topic). Every sentence of our article must be around 350-400 words at the maximum. Otherwise, the article won't be interesting enough for the audience. That's why paragraphs are almost essential elements for a writer’s success. Short paragraphs allow us to cover a big amount of text in just 20-30 sentences. In contrast to long paragraphs, short paragraphs are easier to organize and structure. We don't need to use full sentences to make an article readable, we just need to focus only on the main idea and the main point.
So, what happens, if you have to write article paragraphs and not full sentences? Well, the answer is rather simple, you choose a shorter version of them to put emphasis on and avoid distractions. These paragraphs are of course much longer, sometimes even up to 800+ words. But this doesn’t mean, that you are forgetting about your target audience. They stay engaged and focused, and this helps readers easily. The first thing is that readers will easily pick up from the start. You can see them even during the beginning, I am talking about Google search. By using these types of paragraphs, we can save time spent on a reading article, and we can write article, too. Of course, it will cost money for each reader, but you only spend it for writing an article, whereas writing an article on others websites won’t cost anything.
2. Proper grammar and spelling
Grammar and spelling are two of the most important aspects of good writing. Not to mention the fact these both aspects are absolutely necessary for readers. Grammar and spelling are vital because they are the most important features of every piece of article. When we write for example in English, we must try to use the right word order and correct spelling if possible, it will save readers' attention. There is nothing less than proper grammar and spelling on the site, nobody cares about that. And that’s why readers feel attracted to it. Also, grammatical errors are easier to notice when it’s done by human writers, whereas it is possible to check written articles manually, which makes it much harder to detect those mistakes.
3. Make it colorful and appealing
No matter how boring and dull your article looks, if readers look at it, they will pay attention to it. The moment a reader starts a new article, he/she is more likely to stick with it. And that’s why to make an article attractive, we need to make it colorful. With the colorful and appealing title, we can achieve more attention and improve our readers’ reading habits. Nowadays, we use lots of captions and thumbnails, and buttons to attract readers. But most of the time, we forget about making our articles as enticing as possible, and we end up with crappy ones.
There are tons of techniques for improving colorfulness, and we should know how and why it’s important to make our article as attractive as possible. Here I want to tell you why you need to keep your article on top of search engines. Once readers look at page #1 in a google search, they will think that it's completely ugly and unreadable, but they will continue scrolling down, and this is how long they will spend on your article. It’s not easy to catch them, and they will search through thousands of pages on different websites, and at least half of them will be perfect and colorful.
4. Using links and sharing them with followers
Do you know that on average 200% of clicks are from links? And do you know that only 3-5% of readers share your article with their friends? And, as I said earlier, readers are becoming more selective about search results, and they don’t pay attention to other sites. So it’s essential to include external links in your article, and never leave them empty. This way you can reach your audience without spending hours searching through dozens of sites, and it’s always worth it for our readers as they spend a lot of time on such sites, so this is a great strategy to get readers on your website. Share your articles on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, etc., etc., and use emailing services to promote your article with followers. All in all, it helps your readers to find your content. Moreover, this method is not so complicated, which helps readers to have an opportunity to respond. Sharing articles makes the readers become active users of particular websites, so readers are eager to see something new on them. Also, it helps readers find new articles from famous sources, and it becomes an integral part of building your popularity on your website.
Conclusion
As I know that nowadays there are lots of articles posted online, but still we cannot find them readable. Some people might claim that due to the lack of attention from the audience, there is no possibility to publish an article without any distractions, but I'm here to prove they are wrong. Reading hundreds of pages can make even experienced readers distracted by irrelevant things, like comments, and links.
